This initiative was developed between 2014 and 2018 in the Gran Chaco region of Argentina. The initiative was promoted by a group of organizations made up of the SEDCERO Program, the Network of Technologies for Social Inclusion, the ESSEN Foundation, the Organization of Ibero-American States and APAER with the participation of rural school directors and local representatives. This research-intervention process aimed to create a model for a comprehensive approach to the problems of rural schools in Argentina by strengthening educational communities and organizations in the territory. The initiative generated participatory learning and intervention processes with parents and students from each educational community addressing access to water and sanitation, food production and nutrition, and the provision of energy. The lessons learned were systematized and provided to authorities to work on their scaling up.
