The PRAXIS Congress. Innovation and knowledge for Socio-environmental Transformation from the Global South is organized by RedTISA – Innovation and Technologies for Sustainable Inclusive Development, the Institute for Studies on Science and Technology (UNQ) and a group of partner organizations – public bodies, scientific and technological institutions, networks and civil society organizations. It is supported by the CONICET and the National University of Quilmes.
The event will take place virtually from October 28 to 31.
The objective of this space is to establish a debate and exchange between scientists, technologists, social leaders and public officials on the dynamics of “praxis” that integrate the production of scientific and technological knowledge, socio-territorial intervention, training and influence on public policies with the aim of generating social and environmental systemic transformations from and in the Global South. In particular, PRAXIS seeks to recover and capitalize on those knowledge, practices, learning, pedagogies of praxis and policy inputs that strengthen socio-technical citizenship and new approaches and visions on the design and implementation of knowledge, technologies or socio-technical systems and emancipatory educational processes oriented towards Sustainable Inclusive Development.
The PRAXIS Congress will work on 4 strategic axes:
- Socio-technical citizenship and technologies for inclusive sustainable development
- Gender, knowledge, science, technology, innovation and development
- Innovation and Circular Economy
- Scale, scope and territories of “praxis” for development
The objective of this space has been promoted in Latin America by RedTISA and a group of organizations since 2008, and at the level of the Global South – Europe and Africa – since 2014. On this occasion, PRAXIS aims to delve deeper into the lessons learned from those innovation processes aimed at socio-environmental transformation in a systemic way, articulating theory and practice, and with a gender perspective.
