The “Mulher do Território Sertão do São Francisco” Network is an organization of women farmers, artisans and fishermen, which for more than 30 years has been strengthening the empowerment of women in political and productive spaces and in their organization, helping to transform their realities.
This network action created the Agroecological Fair in the city of Sento Sé, the first fair in the municipality, as a marketing strategy for agroecological products for the local community. The Fair was created in July 2019 and was initially conceived to be territorial and take place only once a year, but little by little it gained space in the agenda of the city’s population and became biweekly. In 2021, due to the pandemic, it became weekly.
