The Gerazeira Community of Vereda Funda describes the process of constitution of the social movement that emerged in the North of Minas Gerais and Alto Vale do Jequitinhonha and the strategies developed with a view to the recognition, access and protection of traditional territories.
The Rosalino Articulation is currently the expression of alliances built and involving eight social groups: indigenous people, quilombolas, geraizeiros, evanteiros, caatingueiros, veredeiros, evergreen flower collectors and vacarians. Through the unification of their struggles, they seek to maintain the recognition of their cultural and ecological differences linked to the defense of their territories, for which they have been using defense strategies defined by them as “law in practice.”
